Production and distribution of Ukrainian books shall be exempted from value added tax.
The corresponding bill №1833 was passed in the Parliament on Friday.
According to the document, tax exemption applies to preparation (literary, scientific and technical editing, correcting, design and layout), production (printing on paper or recording on electronic media), distribution of books, including electronic content of domestic production, student notebooks and textbooks, dictionaries of Ukrainian-foreign or foreign-Ukrainian language of domestic production in the customs territory of Ukraine.
This exepmtion also applies to supply (subscription) and delivery of print media periodicals of domestic production.
However, the abolition of VAT does not apply to products with erotic content.
