The Parliament agreed to the appointment of Mykola Azarov as the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
252 deputies voted for this decision, 129 were against it, 20 deputies did not vote.
Azarov was born December 17, 1947 in Kaluga (Russia), he is a citizen of Ukraine. In 1971 he graduated from the Moscow State University named after Lomonosov, specialty – geologist-geophysicist. Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1986), Professor (1991), member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1997). Member of the Parliament of Ukraine of II, V, VI, VII convocations.
He headed the State Tax Administration of Ukraine in 1996-2002.
From November 2002 to February 2005 he was the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Finance, acting Prime Minister of Ukraine.
From April 19, 2003 he has headed Political Council of the Party of Regions.
2006-2007. – First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Finance of Ukraine.
2010-2012. – Prime Minister of Ukraine.
