The most expensive borsch is in Transcarpathia

The Association of the Suppliers of Retail Chains traditionally determined which regions have the most expensive and the cheapest borsch according to official statistics.

The General Director of the Association Oleksiy Doroshenko informed: the classic borsch includes the following ingredients: pork – 600 g, potatoes and beets – 500 g each, cabbage – 300 g, carrots and onions – 200 g each, tomato paste – 3 tablespoons, drinking water – 3.5 to 4 l, bay leaf, salt, pepper – to taste, sour cream – 200 g.

As it turned out, as of the beginning of March 2019, the most expensive borsch is in Transcarpathian region. There, there costs 109.1 UAH. And the cheapest one is ine Ternopil region – 91.8 UAH. The difference is 17 UAH, or 19%.

The 3 most expensive regions are as follows: Transcarpathian region – 109.1 UAH, the city of Kyiv – 105.7 UAH and Kharkiv region – 105.1 UAH. And the three cheapest regions are as follows: Ternopil region – 91.8 UAH, Lviv region – 95.8 UAH, Volyn region – 96.7 UAH. The price of meat is a key indicator of the cost of borsch in different regions of the country.
