The Mayor to Kasperov: “On Petofi square, the plaster is falling off, do something about it!” (Photo)

At the meeting of the Executive Committee, while discussing the issue of conversion of apartments into commercial premises, the mayor said to the director of the Department of Municipal Economy Oleksiy Kasperov: "Have you seen what is going on on Petofi square? The plaster falls off the balcony on the store downstairs. If you are going to convert the premises from residential to commercial, you have to work with people. People, who live upstairs, can not do the repair. You must speak with the owners of the shop – let them do the repair…".

Kasperov tried to argue: "People already pay for the conversion of residential premises to commercial, they would not want to pay more…". To this Pogorelov said, "Work on it."

Then they again discussed the issue of repair of building facades in the historic part of the city, where apartments are privatized. The mayor stressed that owners must be responsible for the state of the facades. "People must understand this, and not tell us, "Repair my house!" – the mayor said.
