In the Internet it has been mentioned that they were going to build a shopping mall on B.Khmelnytsky square in Uzhgorod.
The project title "Boomerang" is supposed to take about one hectare of free territory, occupying the entire square. By the way, this site is currently one of the few areas in the city which "breathes" and it has great potential as a green area.
The project of glass and concrete "Boomerang" has been distributed across multiple sites, and "Zakarpattya online" reported: the information about plans to build a 3-storey shopping center "Boomerang" in Uzhgorod, on Bohdan Khmelnytsky Sq. appeared, along with the corresponding sketch in the report of the project information system BAU-data.
uzhgorod.in asked the mayor Victor Pogorelov to comment on the construction of the "Boomerang" on Khmelnytsky square.
Here’s what the mayor said: "I deny that. We won another court trial. I don’t see any "Boomerang" there. I do not know if anyone sees. But not while I’m in office." Well, a stance worthy of respect. We’ll remember that. And also remind that according to the the Master Plan of Uzhgorod, any construction on Bohdan Khmelnytsky square, let alone any stupid "Boomerang", is out of the question…
