In Uzhgorod Press Club, there was a press conference of the organizers of the honeycraft fair and festival "Honey Savior" that will be held in Uzhgorod, on 16-18 August.
According to Volodymyr Lyakh, the head of the Beekeepers Union of Transcarpathia, the festival will be devoted to religious holidays – the Honey Savior (August 14) and the Apple Savior (August 19) and to the Beekeeper’s Day, celebrated on August 19.
At the festival, visitors will be able to see the work of bees through the glass in the demonstration hive. "And of course, to taste Transcarpathian honeys, which won the first place back in Soviet times, and are better than honey from other regions of Ukraine", – Volodymyr Lyakh said.
The price of honey is 80 to 100 UAH per liter. Samples of honey from all producers will be examined in the research laboratory. According to the organizers, all the honey, that will be presented at the festival, is genuine. And, by the way, Transcarpathian honey is not sold in supermarkets.
Yevhen Bobrov, the head of the Creative Union "Mask" told about the entertainment program of the festival. "We invite creative teams to show their skills. And also children who can come in bee costumes. All "bees" will receive sweet gifts from manufacturers", – Yevhen Bobrov says.
The festival will run for three days from 9.00 to 20.00 on Nezalezhnist embankment. The opening is scheduled for 14.00 on Friday, August 16. The sanctification of the honey will also take place there.
In Transcarpathia there are about 500 beekeepers, most of them are in Mukachevo district. During this year, the number of Transcarpathians engaged in beekeeping has increased significantly – the organizers of the "Honey Savior" reported.
