The historic part of the city will be free of outdoor advertising

Not to extend the permits for placement of outdoor advertising objects in the historic part of Uzhgorod – this decision was adopted today at the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the City Council. In particular, on Augustine Voloshin, Dovzhenko, Pidhirna streets, Poshtova, Zhupanatska, Koryatovich, Teatralna squares and others.
They also reached an agreement with the entrepreneurs to modernize the advertising designs, the permits for which were extended today: within 6 months in the central zone of the city and within 2 years – in the middle and peripheral zones.
Modernization involves:
– billboard type advertising designs will be installed on the same level from the horizontal surface of the ground (pavement) and at the same distance from the road (taking into account the peculiarities of the urban planning situation);
– the foundations of advertising designs will be buried in the ground (if it is not safe due to presence of heat, energy, water, communications lines, etc., the advertising design shall be moved to a place where it’s safe)
Supports of billboard-type advertising designs should be painted in one unified color (RAL 7005) within 6 months in the central and middle zones and within 9 months in the peripheral zone.
Permits for advertising designs located near the "Tokyo" shopping center, on Mynaiska street (roundabout – intersection), department store "Ukraina", Svoboda Avenue (16th-storey) building were extended, provided that within 2 years the defficiencies are eliminated, Uzhgorod City Council reported.
