The head of Bukovets wanted 9,000 dollars for 10 acres. Now he can get 10 years in prison

Today, April 15, the head of the Bukovets village council in Mizhhirya district was detained receiving the 9 thousand dollars bribe. Law enforcement officials found out that the man had demanded and received bribes for providing 10 acres of land in the village council. Investigators of Mizhhirya District Police Department entered the information on this fact into the Unified register of pre-trial investigation and commenced pre-trial investigation of criminal offense under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (bribery).Prosecutors of the region ensured the control over the pretrial investigation. Note: Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – a bribe in large amount or by an official who is in responsible position, or combined with extortion – punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to three years and confiscation of property. Press service of Transcarpathian Prosecutor’s office.
