The 9th International Handball Tournament ‘Carpathian Cup’ was opened on Thursday, April 19 in Uzhgorod. The Head of the Region Alexandr Ledyda came to congratulate the participants of competitions – informs the press center of the Regional State Administration.
The international competitions, which started today in Uzhgorod sport complex ‘Youth’ were dedicated to the memory of honorary handball employees of Transcarpathian region. The Ukrainian teams as well as the guests from abroad such as Poland and Slovakia will fight for the best rank.
– Today we are dedicating the tournament to all those who have been developing and popularizing the Transcarpathian handball for many years. People who were standing at the origins of this kind of sport on the territory of the Silver Earth. So I wish sporting spirit and good luck to teams – said during his welcoming speech the Head of the Regional State Administration Alexandr Ledyda.
