Despite the situation in the country, the social sector is stable.
This was stated by the Minister of Social Policy Lyudmila Denisova, speaking at the meeting with regional governors, mayors, heads of security agencies, industry representatives, held by the Prime Minister Yatsenyuk, the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy reported.
"The government is aware of the conditions in which the country found itself, at the same time we also realize that every citizen needs our support.That is why, despite the budget deficit and austerity, all kinds of social benefits have been preserved at the same level. In addition, all payments are made on time and on schedule," – Denisova said.
The Minister said that soon the government will adopt a resolution under which the amount of the annual one-time cash assistance for war veterans and victims of Nazi persecution would increase.
Also, she said, the indexation of pensions will be carried out, because now the inflation rate is 3%.
"Due to the increase in gas and heat tariffs, the Government has developed a special program under which low-income families will be eligible for compensation equal to the difference between the cost of utilities before and after the increase," – Denisova said.
The Minister said that the Government was doing everything possible to minimize the negative effects of the difficult economic situation for the citizens of Ukraine.
