The funds for conservation of the castles in Serednye, Nevytske, Chynadiyevo, Palanok and others will be allocate already this year

Transcarpathian Region al Council decided to help our castles to be a tourist attraction and not fall into oblivion.

At the session of the regional council, the deputies approved the complex program of preservation and use of cultural heritage of Transcarpathia in 2016-2020. It provides for the allocation of UAH 53 million for this purpose in the course of five years.

Nine sites are included in the list of priority sites in need of restoration. In particular, the castle in the village of Serednye (12 century), Nevytsky Castle (12-13 century), Palanok in Mukachevo (14-17 century), Chynadiyevo Castle (14-15 century), Kvasy (12-13 century), Nyalab in the village of Korolevo (12-17 century), Kankov in Vynogradiv (12-14 century), Khust (11-12 century) and Uzhgorod Castle (11-14 century).

First, it is planned to produce construction documents and then the repair and restoration works will be conducted. Also, the allocated funds will be used for certification of the attractions and creation of the electronic database. In 2016, UAH 7.2 million will be allocated for these purposes.
