The "Travelling Puppets" came to Uzhgorod today – at noon, the Ukrainian-Slovak project "Festival of Transcarpathian Culture" began on Teatralna Square.
The day program started with a costumed procession in the city center with the participation of the most famous characters of fairy tales, cartoons, performances within the project "Slovakia-Ukraine: collaboration across the border," the http://www.0312.ua informs.
Dancers of the "Dzhereltsia Karpat" and a young singer performed on stage, and then everyone was invited to the puppet theater "Bavka", where the Ukrainian premiere of the joint Ukrainian-Slovakian project – the play "Magic Balloon" – began.
Until 17.00, master classes for children will be held on Teatralna Square, including ones in the making of wedding accessories, also the exhibition and sale of paintings by children’s art school pupils, hand-made works of young artists, craftsmen, you can enjoy Transcarpathian wedding cakes.
In the evening, the event will continue in the museum of folk architecture, they will present wedding traditions of our region with the participation of Transcarpathian Academic Folk Choir.
The evening program of the festival starts at 18:00 in the Skansen (Museum of Folk Architecture and Life). The performances "Sad Sack from a Den" and "Transcarpathian Wedding" will take place there – music, singing and dancing for adults and a playground for children.
The event is realized within the project "Travelling Puppets", funded by the grant of the Norwegian kingdom through the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. Co-financed from the state budget of the Slovak Republic.
