Fierce discussions, numerous negotiations, surveys of Uzhgorod residents and voila! It seems that Uzhgorod residents managed to defend the square in front of the drama theater.
Following the petition signed by more than 400 Uzhgorod citizens regarding the moratorium on the construction on the land plots behind the Drama Theater, the City Council and the Executive Committee made their decision.
On June 26, at the session of the Uzhgorod City Council, with the support of 26 deputies, in order to stop the development, it was decided to redeem for public needs three land plots near the regional music and drama theater owned by individuals (a land plot of 0.2 hectares owned by Volodymyr Yursa, the approximate redemption price is one million hryvnias, a nearby land plot of 0.06 hectares owned by Ivan Tehza, the approximate redemption price is 300 thousand hryvnias, a land plot of 0.11 hectares also owned by Ivan Tehza, the approximate redemption price is 550 thousand hryvnias) and offer other equivalent plots.
Today, on June 27, at the regular meeting of the Executive Committee of the Uzhgorod City Council, the members of the Executive Committee supported the draft decision and abolished the city-planning conditions and restrictions for the construction on the land plots in Uzhgorod at the address: Mostovy lane, pos.2 and pos.3 dd.
