"The forum "Transcarpathia – Business in the Center of Europe", which has started in Uzhgorod, shows that Transcarpathia has the potential for investments. The forum presents 14 projects from all districts of the region, which at present have been developed, estimated and are waiting for investors" – the director of the economy department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Denys Man said in his comment to the agency.
"We have projects with large and smaller investments, the range is 10 million dollars to tens of thousands dollars," – Man said.
According to him, the forum focuses more on Ukrainian investors, although there are also representatives of potential investors from Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Romania.
"Currently, we see that foreigners are willing to invest in Transcarpathia – foreign investors are very aware of the special economic zone, that was in place here until recently, today there are no such legislative options, unfortunately. However, the community, as the landlord, can grant the investor a zero tax on land, there may also be some other arrangements for promoting investment from abroad," – he said.
That is why, at the forum, they made a platform to bring together project developers and potential investors. The Transcarpathian Regional State Administration hoped that the partners will find a common ground, and new business projects will be launched in the region.
