The press conference of the participants of the conflict, which occurred May 18 near the notorious complex "Crown", continues. The assistant deputy of Uzhgorod City Council Natalia Maystrenko told what preceded the actual violent phase of the conflict.
According to the lawyer, the construction (or rather destruction) processes have intensified, so she and deputy Roman Boguslavsky appealed to all releveant supervisory authorities, particularly the State Architecture and Construction Control, which had to respond to the apparent violation. Because the complex, that is being dismantled to pieces, is an architectural monument and all the works are taking place without proper approvals and corresponding permits. However, there was no reaction. Responding to the destruction of the walls, deputy Boguslavsky wrote several appeals – to the RSA and other authorities.
At the same time, he decided to come at the site to check it himself under his deputy powers. "We wanted to ask, on what grounds the destruction of the walls was going on (because the project provides only for restoration) and why trucks were driving in the pedestrian zone, polluting the area. We asked the superintendent these questions. But he said he would not talk to us. Then Ivan Voloshin came, but we did not want to talk to him because he publicly claims that he has nothing to do with the facility. And without warning, he hit me in the face. Then there was a fight and Ivan opened fire."
Roman said that the builders, who were at the site, also beat him. "There were six shots, but they did not aimed at the legs – they shot in the torso. But he withdrew from the fight. Then, together with his assistant Brodi they gathered sleeves. Yevhen Rakhimov, who had gunshot wounds, was allowed to leave the construction site. Then they searched my bag and checked the phone. They returned everything after the arrival of the police."
