Synevyr village council has announced a competition for the best project of a monument of cultural and historical significance dedicated to log-drivers. This was reported by the Holos Ukrainy.
The demand for the brave profession of rafters disappeared in the 1960s. It was then that the timber floating down the Chorna Rika and Tereblya in Transcarpathia discontinued. But the descendants want to revive the spirit of brave and daring ancestors sung in legends. On this occasion, Synevyr village council announced a competition for the best project of a monument of cultural and historical significance dedicated to log drivers.
The review of the sketches of the monument will take place in five stages. The winner will receive a reward – one hundred thousand hryvnias! But this sum is not enough for successful implementation of the project. So, the village council hopes for assistance, in particular, of entrepreneurs and anyone who cares about the legacy of the ancestors.
