October 15 the regional prosecutor’s office forwarded to the court the criminal case against the dean of Economics Faculty of UzhNU Vasyl Miklovda over the committing of an offense under Part 3 of Art.368 of Criminal Code of Ukraine. (Bribery in especially large amounts, punishable with imprisonment for a term of 8 to 12 years with confiscation of property).
The investigation found out that on May 21, 2012 at about 10 o’clock the Dean of the Economics Faculty of UzhNU Vasyl Miklovda being in his office, demanded and received from the student of UzhNU Ch. bribes in the previously agreed amount of $ 1,200 for the positive result of the state exam for the above mentioned student and her brother.
In the course of the investigation into this fact it was established that the Dean had really demanded and received bribes in the previously agreed amount.
Also, June 19, the Dean received a bribe of $ 1200 from the brother of the student Ch., after which he was exposed with this money by the policemen at the scene of the crime.
Thus, as a result of illegal actions the Dean received bribes totaling $ 2,400. During the arrest of the dean in his office a bouquet, made of bills of different denomination, was found. This bouquet was seized during a search.
All this time the Dean has been under written undertaking not to leave the place – reported the press service of the Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region.
