On 23-24 of August, the first festival of national cultures "Carpathian Babylon" took place in Uzhgorod under the slogan "Unite for peace" aimed to unite all the spiritual heritage, diversity of cultures of different nations. Its main objective, as emphasized by the organizers, is unity. Unity of souls, the people, the world. And also creating conditions for raising social and patriotic spirit among youth, increasing tolerance in international relations, improving mutual understanding. The funds raised at the festival will be used to support the soldiers who are protecting the state in the East. The festival was organized by the NGO "Euromist" (Yuriy Danylo) and the PR company "Drive" (Igor Savich), the Regional State Administration, Transcarpathian Regional Council, the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Uzhgorod City Council and the Regional organizational and methodical culture center.
The festival was attended by both professional and amateur artistic and vocal groups that are well known far beyond the borders of our country. These include the national orchestra of folk instruments from the village of Kvasy in Rakhiv district, the National Folklore Ensemble "Irshava" of Irshava district House of Culture, show band "Atas, pop-folk group "Shvalbakh" of Slalyava district House of Culture and the German community of Slalyava district, Darynka Steniuk, the soloist of the folk ensemble "Rozmariya" of the Regional organizational and methodological culture center, Vasylyna Holyanych, the soloist of Volovets District House of Culture, Olesya Lungu and Vitaliy Horbey – soloists of Tyachiv District House of Culture and Vladislav Tovtyn from Uzhgorod.
At the festival, they set a record of Ukraine in the category "The longest national hospitable table", which was registered by a representative of the Book of Records of Ukraine. It was 51 m 60 cm long and included 16 dishes of different national cuisines.
Fans of fine and decorative art had the opportunity to buy products of artists and admire their works. Guests were also offered to taste national dishes of different countries, traditional drinks.
