People wait in the queue to cross the border for more than 6 hours, sometimes even 9, – Uzhgorod residents complain in social networks.
On the border with Slovakia, queues of cars stretch for several kilometers.
This is due to the fact that Ukrainians working in EU countries are returning home for New Year holidays.
On Sunday, December 24, huge car queues stretching for several kilometers were formed on the Ukrainian-Slovak border. Heavy passenger traffic is on the Slovak side. This was announced by Oleg Slobodian, the Assistant Head of the State Border Guard Service.
"There are no queues from the Ukrainian side. This is observed at all crossing points on the border with the European Union. This is due to the fact that Ukrainians working in European countries are returning home for New Year’s and Christmas holidays," – Slobodyan said.
