At the XII Kyiv International Book Exhibition, held in the Ukrainian House, there was the presentation of the art album "Vasyl Svyda. Incorruptible". The book was published at the National State Publishing House "Karpaty". The publication tells about the life and work of the sculptor, winner of the State (now National) Taras Shevchenko Prize.
The presentation was attended by the director of the publishing house "Karpaty" Victor Braslavets, compiler Yaroslav Svyda and art historian Valentina Martynenko, who told about the commitment of the artist to his native land, his industriousness.
He never forgot the origins and sources of his talent, folk "roots" that fed his creativity and gave a rich "crown" – a whole panorama of the history and life of his native land. That’s why, when facing old age, he appealed to his readers with the words that have become an appeal to us and to future generations, his testament: "People! Preserve folk art. It is an invaluable treasure."
The album was published with the assistance of the Department of Information and Communication of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration under the program to support Transcarpathian authors.
