Yesterday, November 17, members of the Parliament supported in the second reading the two bills providing for the establishment of the State Road Fund of Ukraine.
248 and 235 people’s deputies respectively voted for the bills.
"Today, the Parliament supported our bills 4014 and 4015 as a whole as laws. This decision will allow to establish the road fund that will provide stable financing for the construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of roads. In 2016, about UAH 31 billion was allocated for roads, including around UAH 19.4 billion for repairs. The adoption of these laws should allow to double this amount in 2017," – MP for Transcarpathia Robert Horvat commented on the decision.
As you know, currently, funds for roads are allocated only after having covered the needs of other sectors of the economy. Thanks to the adoption of this law, a separate road fund will be established, which will receive funds from the duties and excise taxes paid. The most important thing is that the money will have a specific purpose. These funds can not be used for anything else, other than road repairs.
