The article about massive withering of forests in Transcarpathian region was titled after a foresters’ phrase: "Sorry that you have to see it." Something like this could probably be said about the photo report posted in social networks by the head of the Department of Botany of UzhNU Oleg Kolesnik.
"Some words about Tereblya Dump.
I had a chance to visit once wonderful recreational places, where as a student I used to rest enjoying a unique view, so unusual for Transcarpathia. And this is what people have made of it. How can they litter so much in their own land? Some of the garbage was brought by the river, and the locals bring it by trucks and dump on the bank.
The beaches have disappeared, fishing here has become dangerous, only cows are wandering around the dump and chewing weeds. Am afraid at the thought of the consequences of drinking their milk" – the author of the photographs writes. Nothing to add…
