Talented Uzhgorod schoolgirl is among the three winners of the All-Ukrainian qualifying round of the International Student Competition

Congratulations to the talented Uzhgorod girl! 
Today, Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv ​​congratulated the 10th grade student Zofya Pidhorna on winning the third place in the All-Ukrainian qualifying round of the International Student Competition "Chinese Bridge". Bohdan Andriyiv presented the girl with a diploma from the Department of Culture and Education of the Chinese Embassy in Ukraine and the Confucius Institute at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, a gift from the Chinese Consulate General in Odesa. The mayor also presented a gift from himself and wished Zofya further success and achievements. The young Uzhgorod student is also the winner of the third stage of the national competition in Eastern languages (Chinese language). Zofya is the only representative of Uzhgorod and Transcarpathia, who not only took part in it, but also won first place among 9th grade students. As the Chinese language is not taught in Uzhgorod schools, the girl started learning it on her own 3 years ago, then she studied with the only professional Chinese teacher in Transcarpathia, Olga Lukyanenko. Success at the All-Ukrainian Chinese Language Olympiad prompted Zofya to participate in the World Competition "Chinese Bridge", in the final of which on May 29, 2020 she won the honorable third place.
