Taking cues from Uzhgorod: Mukachevo carriers suggest to increase fares to 7 hryvnias

Mukachevo city executive committee has considered the carriers’ request on bus fares

The decision "On promulgation of the draft decision "On approval of the tariff for transportation of passengers by public buses in Mukachevo" was adopted at the meeting of the executive committee.

It is about a new tariff for transportation of one passenger by public buses on the territory of Mukachevo in the amount of 7 UAH, which is proposed to be introduced on March 1.

The carriers’ request stated that the main reasons for adopting the new tariff were the increase in the prices of tires, other materials and components used for passenger transportation and vehicle maintenance, and the increase in the minimum wage.

Due to the unprofitable rates, carriers cannot ensure the proper quality of the buses’ technical condition, adherence to timetables and the safety of traffic, which in the future could lead to accidents.
