Soon Transcarpathians will be given electronic sick notes: what does it mean?

On April 1, 2020, the Government implements a system of electronic sick notes in Ukraine.

The Channel 24 explained how the system will works and how electronic sick notes will be issued.

The changes in the issuance of sick notes were announced by the Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk. Starting next month, doctors will be able to certify sick notes with electronic signature, so there will be no need to visit the clinic.

"As of April 1, Ukrainians will be able to receive sick notes online – there will be no need to write them on paper forms and go to the clinic," – Oleksiy Honcharuk explained.

How electronic sick notes will work

Every doctor who issues a sick note will have to sign the document with their digital signature in the electronic system.

Paper forms will eventually become the thing of the past. The system will automatically send information from the sick note to the employee’s employer and Social Security Fund.

Therefore, the information through the register in the Pension Fund (PFU) will be automatically transferred to the Social Insurance Fund – they will know immediately that the person is sick and must receive compensation because he or she is a payer of a single social contribution.

It will be impossible to buy a sick note

This will greatly speed up the process of obtaining insurance payments, as well as reduce fraud, it will be impossible to buy a fake sick note for 200-300 UAH.
