The police began an investigation into the road accident that happened on Tolstoy street in Uzhgorod. The proceeding is under control of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region.
Today, February 12, about 2:40, the police received a report about an accident on Tolstoy street.
At the scene of the accident, investigators found out that the driver of a Land Rover Freelander with foreign registration had significantly exceeded speed limit, lost control and crashed into a tree.
Three people, including the driver, died at the scene, and another one – a passenger – was taken to the hospital. The man is in the intensive care unit. All victims are foreigners. The driver was was 28 years old, dead passengers were 27 and 23 years old. A 25-year-old passenger is in the hospital.
The case is being investigated by investigators of Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region. They opened a criminal proceeding under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, a violation of traffic rules that caused the death of several persons. The investigation continues.
