Romanian and Transcarpathian border guards detained offenders

As a result of cooperation between Ukrainian and Romanian border guards, offenders, who might be engaged in smuggling activities, were found and arrested in Transcarpathia.

Last night, Romanian colleagues informed border guards of the Mukachevo detachment about an unknown man in the border area. The response team arrested a man, who was wearing a diving suit, 200 meters from the border, on the bank of the Tisa river. During the subsequent inspection, border guards of the department "Velyky Bychkiv" detained two more "divers" on the bank of the river.

Also yesterday evening, border guards of the department "Solotvyno", having received information from a local resident, detained a citizen of Ukraine without documents a few dozen meters from the border, also on the bank of the Tisa river. And during subsequent search operations in this area, "green berets" found another Ukrainian and 2 packages with thousands of packs of cigarettes. The offense was reported to the Romanian border guards. The investigation is ongoing.
