Roman Shnitser: “This year we have had 25,000 emergency calls less than in the last year”

Today in the press center of the Regional Health Center, there was the briefing dedicated to the World day of urgent medical care.  Journalists met with the head of the Department of Health of Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Roman Shnitser.

Emergency medical care in Transcarpathia, as Roman Shnitser noted, has a separate and well established control over the work. "If you compare 6 months of 2013 and of 2012, we have 25,000 emergency calls less than in the last year. This suggests that emergency service is established in the entire region. Today we see every vehicle, whether it is at the station, or at work. This allows us to respond to a call by sending a free team that is the closest to the patient. Ambulances arrive in time in about 75% of cases. 25% is partly subjective and partly objective underperformance. But it is caused primarily by the lack of roads." Also delays in arrival of ambulances are associated with meteorological conditions, seasonal features and epidemiological situation.
