Robbery in Transcarpathia: more than a quarter of a million was stolen from a house

Vynogradiv police have identified a criminal who stole over UAH 300,000 from the house of a local resident – USD 6,500 and UAH 140,000.
According to the Official site of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region, on March 12, a resident of the district reported to Vynogradiv police that 6,500 dollars and 140,000 hryvnias had been stolen from her house.
According to the Communication department of the Transcarpathian regional police, all necessary investigative activities were carried out at the scene. The police immediately began operational activities and today, March 14, detained the man involved in the theft.
“The police have already partially seized the funds, because the perpetrator had time to hide the stolen money – he buried in the ground on the bank of the river. The money will be returned to the victim,” – the statement reads.
The investigator charges the suspect with a crime under Part 3 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft combined with breaking and entering). All the necessary materials are being prepared to indict the thief of the said crime and to impose a pre-trial restraint.
