Residents of Mizhhirya demand from Ledyda a mayor (PHOTOS)

This morning there was a rally in front of the regional administration office. Residents of Mizhhirya for 2.5 years have been without the head of the town. They just would not appoint election in the town.

As explained by the head of the NGO "Position" Yaroslav Mandel, the current administration of the town is actually illegitimate because there is no such position as "acting town head". Residents of the town want a legitimate mayor, as prescribed by law. "In Beregovo the mayor election was appointed only three months after the previous one had become an MP. And in our town it still has not been appointed. We have already applied to the administration and to the deputies. We wrote an appeal to the Attorney General Pshonka, – Mandel says. – Our meeting has no political agenda. We did not come to criticize Oleksandr Ledyda. We only ask him to help."

However, representatives of Mizhhirya so far have not met with the Governor. It turned out that he was not in the office. They promised to arrange for meeting with the Governor in an hour.
