Since the beginning of the year, while supervising the observance and application of the law on wages, the inter-district prosecutors made requests to managers of enterprises, following the consideration of which they have paid off their debts in the amount of about 190,000 UAH, and also filed 15 law suits for the recovery of debt wages totaling more than 85,000 UAH, which were upheld by the court, and the arrears were recovered.
According to Khust inter-district prosecutor Ivan Kailo: "These and other measures helped to ensure that the city of Khust and Khust district began the October of this year with the full repayment of wage arrears. Meanwhile, in order to prevent the emergence of new debts, Khust inter-district prosecutors will continue to closely monitor the situation in the field of remuneration."
As of January 1, 2013, two companies in the city and the district had the arrears of wages, which accounted for a total of around 440,500 UAH.
Given the fact that the repayment of wage arrears, ensuring timely and full payments is one of the priorities of prosecutorial and investigative activities identified by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Khust Interdistrict Prosecutor’s Office ensured ongoing monitoring of the situation in this area, carried out a series of organizational and practical measures, submitted a number of the prosecutor’s response documents aimed to eradicate this negative phenomenon, which allowed to fully repay the debt.
