Prosecutors responded to the blocking of the Ukrainian-Slovak border by opening a criminal proceedings

The prosecutor’s office opened a criminal investigation into the blocking of the checkpoint near the Ukrainian-Slovak border in Transcarpathian region.

"Uzhgorod local prosecutors are carrying out procedural control in the criminal proceeding over the blocking of transport communications (Part 1 of Art. 279 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). It is about the blocking of transport communications near the Ukrainian-Slovak border by placing obstacles interfering with normal vehicular traffic," – the prosecutors stated.

The sanction of the article provides for a fine of 50 to 150 tax-free minimum incomes, or correctional labor for up to two years, or arrest for up to six months or imprisonment for up to three years.

Previously, the NV reported that on September 17, vehicles with foreign registration had blocked the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" on the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
