Yesterday, October 24, the police received a report about the detection of a gas of unknown origin in the premises of an Uzhgorod school. Patrol policemen, officers of the Uzhgorod police department, rescuers and medics immediately arrived at the scene. For the safety of students, classes at school were cancelled, and all children were let go home.

Those were two 16-year-old boys, one of them being a student of the school, where the incident happened. The young men explained that they had sprayed pepper spray in the school in order to impress their peers. The evidence – pepper spray "Perets" with a volume of 100 grams – was seized by the police.
As noted earlier, nobody was seriously injured as a result of the hooliganism, three students were hospitalized, in total, 11 children asked for medical care. Their life and health are not in danger.
The police started criminal proceeding over this incident under Part 4 of Art. 296 of the CCU, that is, hooliganism with the use of an object, specially adapted or made for causing bodily harm. The boys were interviewed and released.
Recall that today classes at school №9 resumed.
