Yesterday, October 26, employees of the Drug Crime Department of Transcarpathian police documented the storage of drugs in particularly large quantities.
During the search in the house of a 51-year-old resident of the city of Chop in Uzhgorod district, law enforcement officers found in the attic a roughly crushed substance of plant origin weighing about 2 kilograms. The mixture similar to marijuana was seized and sent for examination. A criminal proceeding over this incident was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 307 of the CCU, ie drug storage.
Another case of drug storage was also recorded in Chop. During the search in a house of a 57-year-old local resident, officers of the Drug Crime Department found and seized 10 kilograms of marijuana. The drug was sent for examination. The police found out that the man had grown marijuana himself. A criminal proceeding over the incident was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 307 of the CCU, ie illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, delivery or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues in particularly large quantities. Such an offense is punishable by imprisonment for a term of eight to twelve years with the confiscation of property.
Both men live on the same street. The investigation continues.
