Investigators of the Transcarpathian police have opened a criminal investigation into an accident that happened on the bypass road in Uzhgorod. A 58-year-old resident of Uzhgorod died on the spot from injuries as a result of being hit by a car "Toyota".
Yesterday, December 5, at 19:06, the police recieved a report about a road accident on the bypass road in Uzhgorod.
As the investigative team, that arrived at the scene, found out, around 19:00, a Toyota Corolla driven by a 32-year-old resident of Mukachevo had hit a pedestrian. According to the driver, the man was on the roadway, lying next to his bike. As a result of the injuries, the 58-year-old resident of Uzhgorod died on the spot.
At present, officers of the investigation department of the Transcarpathian regional police are establishing all the circumstances of the case.A criminal proceeding was opened over the incident pursuant to Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the rules of road safety, which caused the death of the victim). The car was taken to the impound lot of Uzhgorod district police station.
