Pioneers sent Lenin off from the Uzhgorod train station (PHOTOS)

Goodbye, Lenin!  This slogan was pronounced today, on 11th of November, at 11:11 on the square between the bus and train stations in Uzhgorod.

The opening of the new mini-sculpture by Mykhailo Kolodko "Hasta la vista, Lenin!" took place there. It looks like a railway car of the early XX century.

What is the symbolism of the new sculpture? – we asked the author.

– This year marks the hundredth anniversary of the October coup, – Mykhailo answers, – the event that influenced the whole world history. As you know, it was in a sealed railroad car that Lenin and the group of other left-wing radicals came from Switzerland to Russia to start a revolution in their country and thereby to make her withdraw from the First World War. It’s been a hundred years, and we see that he has overstayed his welcome here. Especially in the minds of some people. Time to go back and leave us alone. Hasta la vista!

It is not surprising that pioneers wearing red scarves to send Lenin off to a return journey. Goodbye! – we’ll say them too.
