Chop customs officers stopped a resident of the Hungarian capital, who wanted to discreetly export from the territory of Ukraine six vintage books published two centuries ago without any permits.
Returning from Transcarpathia to Budapest as a passenger in a car, a 64-year-old man at the customs checkpoint "Vylok" deliberately chose the "green corridor", thus confirming his honest intention to cross the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. But inspectors decided to check, whether he was adhering to the customs rules, and inspected the car. After a few minutes, the Hungarian was explaining why he was carrying 6 vintage books, which are more than 200 years old and restricted for transportation across the customs border of Ukraine (under the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine № 436 dd. 21.05.12).
In his explanation the man said that the books were his property, but he did not have permits to transport them across the border.
The inspectors drew up the protocol on violation of customs regulations under Art.471 of Customs Code of Ukraine. The books in foreign language: «MATHESIS» (1812), «MENNYISEGTAN» (1856), «ALGEBRA» (1862), «MENNYISEGTAN» (1867), «MENNYISEGTAN» (1868) «MATHESIS» (1812) were seized until the court decision.
