Petrov does not rule out the privatization of Uzhgorod airport

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration is confident that the privatization of the airport will be a successful endeavour.

During a meeting with the head of the Uzhgorod airport, Petrov said that he did not rule out the possibility of conceding the company to private investors. He explained that the experience of other Ukrainian airports was interesting and successful.

He also stressed that the company is not operating at full capacity, but one of the reasons for that is once again absence of the airspace agreement between Ukraine and Slovakia, because the planes must cross state borders to land.

There were also thoughts about opening a cargo terminal at Uzhgorod airport to enable fast delivery of goods and avoid queues at the border.

Recall that the other day Zelensky discussed with the president of Slovakia the agreement on restoration of operation of the airport "Uzhgorod".
