Personnel decisions on heads of the Regional State Administration departments will be made next week – V.Lunchenko

During today’s meeting on Narodna Square with community activists on the coordination of candidates for DSA heads, they raised the issue of the dismissal of heads of the regional administration departments appointed by the previous government. In particular, they refered to the head of the health department Roman Shnitser.

The head of the region Valeriy Lunchenko told citizens that the dismissal of current and the appointment of new heads of the RSA departments would be carried out by his deputies as soon as they are officially approved at their positions. Each deputy will be responsible for the appropriate line of work. Andriy Serbaylo will be in charge of social block, so he should analyze the activities of the Health Department and submit proposals for candidates for a new head. 

"I did not want to fire all on the first day, because then there would be no one to work. But next week, the deputies will take on personnel policy in the regional administration," – Valeriy Lunchenko assured.

As for the issue of appointments in the field of security agencies, which was also raised at the meeting today, the head of the RSA explained that he was only responsible for the executive branch. "There is the security block that is subordinate to the prosecutor’s office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. I can only refer to the General Prosecutor on a particular issue, but on the basis of your statements and arguments. Otherwise, if I try to influence the prosecutor of the region, tomorrow I will be accused of corruption. I have no powers to influence the appointment and can only work with the security forces within the law," – Valeriy Lunchenko explained to civic activists – the press-center of the RSA reported.
