A new flash mob has been launched in social networks on the occasion of Ukrainian Flag Day of August 23, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its Facebook page.
"#SelfieWithFlag" or "Photo with a flag" is the name of the new project. Ukrainians are invited to take pictures in their favorite places with the flag of Ukraine, to post these photos on their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, adding the hashtag #SelfieWithFlag or #SelfizPraporom and to tell the world about the uniqueness of this place.
The best photos will be published on all social networks of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the winner photo will become the cover of the MFA accounts in social networks by the end of the summer.
Recall that on August 23, 1991 a group of people’s deputies brought a blue-yellow Ukrainian flag to the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada. This moment was captured by the artist Oleksiy Kulakov in the painting "Birth of the State", which on August 22, 2001 was solemnly unveiled on the second floor of the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
In Soviet times, blue-yellow flag was banned.
