“PASSION CHRIST” at the festival of organ music from a Kyiv composer (ANNOUNCEMENT)

On September 24, during the 9th International Youth Organ Music Festival, Uzhgorod and guests of the city will have an opportunity to listen to the music of a young Kyiv composer, organist and musicologist Bohdan Demyanenko.  

In 2013-2016, Bohdan Demyanenko worked as an organist in the German Evangelical Lutheran community of St. Catherine in Kyiv, and also directed the youth choir "Light from the Sky", for which he wrote nine church cantatas for choir, organ and soloists, as well as "Passion of Christ" (2014).

The oratorio "Passion of Christ for the Evangelist Mark" for reader, choir and organ will be the basis of the program, which on September 24 will be presented in the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic by Bohdan Demyanenko (organ, Kyiv) and the choir of the parish of All Saints and Martyr Jehoshaphat (Uzhgorod) with the participation of Fr. Volodymyr Kovtyk. The regent of the choir is Honored Artist of Ukraine Svitlana Hleba. The presenter – Katerina KERECHANYN. The concert starts at 17.00.                      

We hope that the spiritual music, the sounds of the organ and the choir will perfectly complement the festive atmosphere that is reigning now in Uzhgorod in connection with the birthday of our old but beautiful city.
