Over the past year, the customs office reviewed more than 1,500 cases of customs rules violation

During 2016, the Transcarpathian customs office of the SFS reviewed 1,524 cases of customs rules violation. In 1,497 cases, the decision about imposing fines at almost UAH 12.2 million was taken. Compared to the year 2015, the customs office reviewed 1,242 cases; in 1,229 cases, fines in the amount of UAH 4.1 million were imposed. This was reported by Stanislav Baluev – acting chief of the Transcarpathian customs office.

According to the acting chief of the customs office, in 2016, the office handed over to the court 855 cases of customs rules violation in the amount of UAH 33.1 million. Following the hearings, the court has made decisions on confiscation of direct crime objects at UAH 21.1 million and imposed fines in the amount of UAH 14.7 million.

Also, Stanislav Baluev noted that between January and December 2016, the Transcarpathian customs office filed to the Court of Appeal in Transcarpathian region 26 appeals against decisions of the trial court. Thus, the court upheld 5 claims, partially upheld 3 claims, dismissed 12 claims.
