Over the past day, border guards in Transcarpathia found two batches of smuggled cigarettes

Two cases of illegal transportation of tobacco products across the Ukrainian-Hungarian border were detected by border guards at the "Tisa" checkpoint this morning. First, a cache with cigarettes was detected by law enforcement officers in a passenger car "Audi", that was leaving Ukraine. While checking the car, the border guards noticed a suspicious hole in the luggage compartment. So, they decided to inspect the vehicle in depth and found in the fuel tank 210 packs of tobacco products "Rothmans". Subsequently, another 200 packs of cigarettes "Philip Morris" were found in the spare wheel.

Because of his unlawful intentions, the 36-year-old driver of the car lost both the cigarettes and the vehicle. According to the current legislation, the car "Audi" made in 1998 and 410 packs of cigarettes were seized. The confiscated goods were estimated at more than 50 thousand hryvnia.

In a few hours, another batch of contraband cigarettes was found by border guards in a minibus "Volkswagen". 810 packs of cigarettes "Rothmans" were hidden from the border and customs control in the ceiling, the battery box and the right doorstep of the vehicle. At the moment, the value of the minibus and the tobacco products is being established.
