Orban appealed to Hungarians with dual citizenship calling to vote at the elections

The Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban called on Hungarians with dual citizenship, most of whom live in European countries, in particular in Ukraine, to vote at the parliamentary elections in April 2018.

This is stated in Orban’s letter to the citizens, the Hungarian publication 444 informs.

Orban reminds that the Hungarian Parliament in 2010 adopted a law on a simplified procedure for obtaining Hungarian citizenship for foreigners.

Orban calls for registration on the special voting website to take part "in deciding the fate and future of the Carpathian Basin countries."

The parliamentary elections in Hungary will take place in April 2018, Orban’s party Fidesz expects to receive the largest number of votes.

As reported by the Mukachevo.net, in 2017, more than 950 thousand people received the citizenship of Hungary under the simplified procedure.

As of the beginning of 2015, 94 thousand residents of Transcarpathia have received Hungarian citizenship.
