One and a half thousand trees were planted today in Uzhgorod during the campaign “Greening of Ukraine” (PHOTOS)

1,500 trees were planted today in Uzhgorod as part of a large-scale campaign "Greening of Ukraine" – in Peremoha Park (Kirpichka), near the Radvanka quarry and at the BAM. This was reported by the press service of the Uzhgorod City Council.
The initiative of the environmental flash mob "1 million trees in 24 hours" was supported back at the beginning of the year, but due to the coronavirus pandemic they were forced to postpone the campaign.
Seedlings of pine, thuja, maple, acacia, edible chestnut, wild apple were planted in the Peremoha Park (Kirpichka); thuja, oaks and ash trees were planted on the territory near the quarry; chestnuts, maples and oaks were planted near the main building of Uzhgorod National University. The alley near Uzhgorod’s 12th and 15th schools, where vandals broke trees, was also restored – 60 pines were planted here.
Saplings to the organizers of the campaign, employees of the AVE Uzhgorod, all Uzhgorod residents who contributed to greening of the city, were provided by the Transcarpathian Regional Forestry and Hunting Range Administration, namely – Kamyanytsia, Antalovtsi and Velyka Dobron forestries.
