On the borders of Transcarpathia: cigarettes seized from a Hungarian and a Russian detained on the border with Slovakia

A Hungarian citizen who was returning home through the checkpoint "Tisa" followed the path of his countryman, who on the eve of New Year celebrations was trying to illegally transport cigarettes across the border in a gas tank.

The man was leaving for Hungary via the simplified control lane "green corridor", and in the luggage compartment of his car "Opel" he was carrying a gas cylinder for household purposes. However, border guards with customs officers decided to check the contents more thoroughly. As a result of the inspection, they found 60 packs of cigarettes FEST and 46 packs of cigarettes MARLBORO.

Since the vehicle design elements were not used for the illegal transportation of cigarettes, the car was not seized. In turn, the cigarette and the cylinder were confiscated, the value of tobacco products is currently being established.

In addition, the border guards of the "Novoselytsia" department, which is stationed in Perechyn district, last night, detained a 38-year-old citizen of the Russian Federation. As explained by the offender, he was going to get to Western Europe in search of a better life. Administrative and procedural documents on attempt to illegally cross the border were drawn up, the offender is expecting trial.
