A warehouse with about 880 liters of surrogate alcohol has been found in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

Prosecutors of the Transcarpathian Prosecutor's Office, together with detectives of the National Police in Transcarpathian region, shutdown an illegal workshop for production of cognac and vodka. The warehouse was arranged in the apartment of a previously convicted resident of Uzhgorod. 
During the authorized searches, law enforcement officers seized more than 880 liters of various surrogates in plastic containers. Those included more than 130 liters of cognac-like substance and more than 520 liters of alcohol.
In addition, 142 bottles of vodka and 310 bottles of cognac with counterfeit excise duty stamps were seized. The record books with the quantity and prices of the surrogate already sold were also seized. In the framework of the criminal proceedings registered under Part 2 of Article 323, Part 1 of Article 204, Part 1 of Article 199 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, urgent investigative activities are being conducted. Pre-trial investigations are being carried out by investigators of the Transcarpathian regional police. The Transcarpathian Prosecutor's Office provides procedural control over the course of the investigation.
