Lviv-Mukachevo highway will be connected to a Hungarian highway
According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance, all regional centers of Western Ukraine are planned to be connected with highways.
The government plans to connect all regional centers of Western Ukraine with highways, and is already working to find funding for new infrastructure projects. This was announced by the Deputy Finance Minister Oleksandr Kava.
He noted that the coverage of Ukraine by a network of highways will be an important stage in the unification of Ukraine with European countries.
With the deficit of budget financing for the road sector, international financial organizations have become the main creditor of the resource for the development of high-speed traffic in Ukraine. This year alone, the Ministry of Finance attracted almost 5 billion hryvnias for the projects on the reconstruction and construction of roads in Ukraine.
According to the Deputy Minister of Finance, the priority for the coming years should be to upgrade the M06 highway on the Rivne-Lviv section to the first category, as well as to build high-speed roads between Kyiv and Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil, as well as Lviv and Mukachevo.
“In the future, it would be feasible to extend the road from Lviv to the border with Poland and connect it with the existing Polish A4 motorway. And also to launch a project for the construction of a new highway Lviv - Mukachevo through the Carpathian ridge, and connect it with the Hungarian highway M3 and the Slovak D1. In my opinion, the Lviv-Mukachevo highway has every chance to become the first concession road in Ukraine,” - Oleksandr Kava said.
