Latest information on the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19, Ukraine, Transcarpathia, Uzhgorod

1003 COVID-19 cases has been confirmed in Transcarpathia. This was reported by the Transcarpathian Regional Center for Public Health.  

"During the past day, May 21, 355 people sought emergency medical care, 8 of them had symptoms of acute pneumonia, 7 were suspected of having COVID-19" – the director of the Health Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Yelizaveta Birov said.

396 samples of biological materials for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing were collected.

39 persons were diagnosed with COVID-19, 4 of them are medical workers.

Overall, as of 9:00 am on May 22, 2020, 1003 patients have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of those, 224 are health care workers and 57 are children. 8616 polymerase chain reaction tests have been carried out.

As for Uzhgorod, as of the morning of May 22, 343 Uzhgorod residents have been confirmed to have COVID-19. This was reported by the health department of Uzhgorod city council and Uzhgorod city and district branch of the State Institution "Transcarpathian Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine". 

2 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the past 24 hours.

94 people have recovered  

6 persons have died.
  
33 Uzhgorod residents are hospitalized, 210 are on outpatient treatment.

3 Uzhgorod citizens are in self-isolation 

In the last 24 hours, mobile crews have made 5 visits, 55 samples of biological materials have been collected for polymerase chain reaction test. In total, since the onset of the disease, 355 visits have been made, 1779 samples of biological materials have been collected for PCR tests.

According to the Public Health Center, as of 9:00 am on May 22, there have been 20148 laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine, of which 588 were fatal, 6585 patients have recovered. During the day, 442 new cases were confirmed. Currently, coronavirus disease has been detected in:

Dnipropetrovsk region – 859 cases;  

Donetsk region – 141 cases;  

Zhytomyr region – 607 cases;  

Transcarpathian region – 1003 cases;

Ivano-Frankivsk region – 1268 cases;  
Kirovohrad region – 460 cases; 
Kyiv – 2522 cases; 
Kyiv region – 1344 cases; 
Lviv region – 1240 cases; 
Luhansk region – 43 cases; 
Mykolaiv region – 277 cases; 
Odesa region – 814 cases; 
Poltava region – 266 cases; 
Rivne region – 1323 cases; 
Sumy region – 166 cases; 
Ternopil region – 1105 cases; 
Kharkiv region – 866 cases; 
Kherson region – 173 cases; 
Khmelnytsky region – 299 cases; 
Chernivtsi region – 2905 cases; 
Cherkasy region – 383 cases; 
Chernihiv region – 119 cases.  
The tests were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of the morning of May 22, 2020, the Center has received 1284 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases.
