The Community Police Officer project has been launched in Transcarpathia

Yesterday, February 17, a video conference dedicated to the implementation of the project "Community Police Officer" in Ukraine took place at the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region.
It was attended by the leadership of the public block of the National Police of Ukraine, National Police offices of Dnipropetrovsk, Transcarpathian, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk regions, heads of territorial and police departments of Transcarpathia, as well as heads of newly formed united territorial communities of the region. Colonel Roman Us, the Deputy Chief of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region, the head of the Public Police Unit, informed the audience about the innovations of the project "Community Police Officer".
Currently, the Community Police Officer project developed in Ukraine on the initiative of the leadership of the National Police and with the support of the US Department of Justice is successfully operating in Dnipropetrovsk region. Next are the Western regions of Ukraine, namely Transcarpathian, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. According to Colonel Roman Us, the community police officer will be working and living in the community and will communicate directly with its leadership in order to solve the pressing problems of the citizens. At the same time, the community management will assist the police in logistical support, allocate office space for it, etc.
In total, six dozen united territorial communities are planned to be formed in Transcarpathia (currently, there are 17), which will be served by hundreds of community police officers. Heads of the united communities attending the meeting welcomed the implementation of the project "Community Police Officer" in Transcarpathia and assured that they would support the innovation in every possible way.
